FENTON BUILDERS, INC. · PO BOX 1291, ELLSWORTH, ME 04605 · info@fentonbuilders.com The satisfaction that our clients experience speaks for itself: "I am writing on behalf of Bill and Dan Fenton. I have known Bill for many years as he caretakes for my mother in Salisbury Cove. He built an addition on her house which I admired for a long time. When I purchased a cabin on Tunk Lake, I asked him to undertake the renovations for me. "It was a major re-doing of the entire interior and key parts of the exterior of the cabin. He also added a wing onto the house (it became a house instead of a cabin), which he designed and built himself. There were many aesthetic and structural decisions to be made. These were often in direct conflict with each other. Bill and Dan proved themselves to be resourceful and inventive as well as tactical and skilled when it came to solving all sizes of problems. I found them to be organized and bard working. They also brought in excellent people to do the electrical, plumbing and tiling work. It was completed in a timely and economical fashions and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. "Another thing I will mention is that Bill is very good in dealing with people. He is diplomatic and reliable. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions." Schellie A. "We understand that you are considering employing Bill Fenton for some construction and he has asked that we write a letter of recommendation. We are happy to do so. "In 2005 Bill completed a major renovation of our cabin in Maine. The project actually was nearly a total reconstruction, involving an architect, county building regulation authorities and ourselves. Much of planning, discussion and paper process was done by phone and email, with only a few on-site visits. In all cases, Bill was accessible, responsive and easy to interact with. He readily addressed our concerns, answered our questions and generally kept us up-to-date on his progress. Any problems or issues that we had were discussed and dealt with to our satisfaction. "Then there is the quality of the construction. In a word, excellent! We've had experience with a variety of construction, having made a large addition to a previous house and building our current house, so we've seen a variety of workmanship. Bill and his crew definitely excel in the quality of their work. It is properly done, innovative when necessary and perhaps most importantly, pleasing to look at. The interior was vertical tongue and groove lumber. It was installed so that the vertical lines continued up the walls two stories and matched with the vertical pieces of the ceiling -- something we just wouldn't have thought to do. The lumber finished with a semi-transparent white wash and the effect is quite stunning. Bill's team provided not only the construction but also the electrical and plumbing, done efficiently and correctly. We think the plumbing system is unique and in fact is so esthetically pleasing that it the first thing we show visitors. "We (and Bill) did have the luxury of spreading this project out over some months, so construction delays were not really an issue. However, a few times some things had to be done to a schedule, e.g., the driveway had to be completely redone (the original driveway was not on our property) so the electric line could be installed before the Maine winter set in. Bill was told of the problem and easily met the deadline. "In summary, Bill and his team completed the remodeling of a primitive cabin into a three-bedroom house in Maine that exactly fit our desires while we watched from Virginia. "Please let us know if there is any additional information we can provide." Sincerely, Rick and Diane F. |
